The dead stay with us, that much is clear. They remain in our hearts and minds, of course, but for many people they also linger in our senses,as sights, sounds, smells, touches or presences. Grief hallucinations are a normal reaction to bereavement but are rarely discussed, because people fear they might be considered insane or mentally destabilised by their loss. As a society we tend to associate hallucinations with things like drugs and mental illness, but we now know that hallucinations are common in sober healthy people and that they are more likely during times of stress.
Dancing mania is the name given to a phenomenon that occurred mainly in mainland Europe from the 14th century through to the 17th century, in which groups of people would dance through the streets of towns or cities, sometimes foaming at the mouth or speaking in tongues, until they collapsed from exhaustion. The first major outbreak of the mania was in Aachen, Germany, in July 1374. The dancers went through the streets screaming of wild visions, and even continued to writhe and twist after they collapsed from exhaustion. The dancing quickly caught on, and spread rapidly throughout France and the Low Countries. The mania reached its peak in 1418 in Strasbourg. At at least one point, so many people had either been afflicted with the dancing mania, or caught up in the dancing, or were trying to give assistance, or simply watching the events unfold, that the town was brought to a complete halt.
Although no real consensus exists as to what caused the mania, some cases, especially the one in Aix-la-Chapelle, may have had an explainable physical cause. The symptoms of the sufferers can be attributed to ergot poisoning, or ergotism, known in the Middle Ages as "St. Anthony's Fire". It is caused by eating rye infected with Claviceps purpurea, a small fungus that contains toxic and psychoactive chemicals (alkaloids), including lysergic acid (used in modern times to synthesize LSD). Symptoms of ergot poisoning include nervous spasms, psychotic delusions, spontaneous abortion, convulsions and gangrene; some dancers claimed to have experienced visions of a religious nature.
These special individuals can be called psychic vampires since they mentally achieve their goals of absorbing energy from other humans. Most regular people have probably had an experience with a psychic vampire even if they may not have known it at the time. You are just moving along with your life and run into people who simply exhaust you. You feel all your energy leave the room with them or even can be infused with a sense of depression when these people pop into the room with you and get physically near to you. While the majority of people who make you feel this way are probably just self centered attention addicts or tedious negative complainers, some of them might actually be a psychic vampire, zapping the energy or happiness from your body.
Many of these types of vampires may not even realize what they are doing or what is going on with their interactions toward other people. However, some have investigated the oddities of their bodies and the way they draw on the energies of people near them to discover the truth of their vampiric qualities. Throughout mythology and history several cultures have promoted this concept over many centuries, meaning that there may be early links to modern psychic vampires even though the modern media has only promoted undead blood drinkers as the only type of vampiric parasite. Native American tribes are some of the most prominent believers of real life psychic vampires. The Hopi group of Native Americans located primarily in the northeastern region of what is now Arizona calls these unique people powaqa. A powaqa is technically a sorcerer who feeds on the life force of a human being. This life force also has a name since it is a vital aspect of the spiritual life of the Hopi(the hiksi).
In general all those so called ghost hunters(no I don't mean the show) or maybe I do in a way, are so full of bull crap, I am not saying that a special gift does not exist because it does, what I am saying is that if you really have a gift of decerning of spirits you don't need all that electronic crap, and you don't need to go around talking into thin air. If there is a spirit present it will let you know, most often it is an evil spirit and you really don't need to go around messing with the spirit world to start with, however there are some spirits that are sent to help a person. those are angels and sent by god and you will know what is good and not good during the encounter. So watch those ghost hunter shows if you want, they are television and meant to entertain the simple minded. If it is a person who is confronting you just roll your eyes and go your own way, if they brag they can then they really can't a true person with decerning of spirits does not broadcast it.
You can take this post with a grain of salt if you like.
