GravityZone administration combines identity, company scope, endpoint inventory, tasks, policy templates, assignment rules, reporting, quarantine, and incident actions. That concentration is useful, but it creates a large blast radius when one account has unnecessary rights or one policy change reaches more endpoints than its author expected. A secure operating model must answer who can see data, who can change settings, who can deploy agents, who can investigate, who can restore quarantine, who can edit users or licensing, and who approves changes that affect production BEST endpoints.
Policy governance is also a precedence problem. Bitdefender documents direct policy assignment, ordinary inheritance, forced inheritance, and rule-based assignment for locations, users, endpoint tags, integration tags, and computer groups. Rule priority and target selection influence the result. Some settings, including uninstall password and encryption or decryption controls, remain device-policy concerns rather than rule-based settings. An administrator can therefore edit the intended template correctly while a particular endpoint receives a different effective policy because of enforcement, a higher-priority rule, an integration, an offline state, or a local Power User change.
This guide applies least privilege and controlled change to current GravityZone with BEST. It covers account and company boundaries, policy ownership, assignment design, tag and license limits, staged testing, effective-policy evidence, and exception review. The exact menus and capabilities vary by GravityZone Cloud or On-Premises edition, product, subscription, add-on, operating system, endpoint role, and account type. - Separate GravityZone account rights for network operations, policy settings, investigation, user administration, company administration, and licensing, and pair each role with strong login controls and scheduled review.
